Corn and Camaraderie but no COFFEE

It's a wonderful thing to enjoy a sunny day with friends, food, and great music.  You arrive at an anticipated event expecting to have fresh roasted corn, cold beverages, other good eats, and souvenirs to take home.  Maybe some signed t-shirts or bags of coffee...  OOPS!

Exerpt from Travis Arket's Facebook Page 9/12/2010:

Travis Arket A HUGE thanks to everyone who showed up to the Rutledge Corn Maze yesterday! I hope you all had a great day and a TON of fun! I know we did! Hope to see you all at the next event!

    • Ara Willow What an absolutely wonderful time we had. No coffee though, HMMM

    • Lady Washington No coffee? Um, wasn't it suposed to be there?
      12 September at 16:29 ·

    • Richard D'Andrea Dover Very interesting, always a reason for no coffee. When it happened why didn't someone go pick some up at QFC for the sake of the fans? It was promoted all over the website.

There was no coffee because there is no coffee. The coffee they said they had was a lie and they lied to the corn maze people from the start. By the time they found out, it was too late and the money had already been put into advertising ...so they ran with it. QFC did not order more and there was no mix up in distribution. They just plain didn't have any. That's the truth.
But hey, hopefully you all got to spend time with everyone and you got some cool merchandise to have signed! Hopefully you bought one of our extremely reasonable t-shirt/book packages (unlilke some scammers trying to make a huge profit by charging fans tons of money)!

:D This business is quite strange sometimes and I'm just glad to have such awesome fans! If I can get a deal, that deal is passed on to the people who make it all possible. And believe me, I fight for the deals for everyone!

    • Ara Willow That's what I love about you Travis, say it like it is, no hiding, no bullshit. "Just the Truth Man". WhooooooHoooooooo

    • Lady Washington There is not any coffee at QFC. My local one has NO coffee and the manager said they are "done" with it.

    • Michele Yamrick Travis, thank you telling all the truth, hope to meet ya in Astoria!

    • Richard D'Andrea Dover I thought I saw a post that said there the coffee was accidently shipped to QFC. That is why I mentioned QFC.

    • Travis Arket Richard, you're probably right, it's just their attempt at backpedaling since they promised everyone coffee from the start.

    • Helen Ruckman Quite possibly those being represented had no clue “Mr. Slick" has been hiding the information from them the whole time. Wouldn't be the first time he's done this. Here's hoping the next explanation posted on the new but rarely updated website is more believable. Here's hoping, too, that spell check is used this time. Before, the spelling was so bad I was embarrassed for everyone it was supposed to represent. (Hint – use FIREFOX for a browser. It has spell check built in).

October 12:  The Captain Phil Harris Memorial Corn Maze is now haunted for Halloween!  If you're in the area, stop by.  Maze information & Hours:  Fridays & Saturdays Starting September 25th - October 31st 5pm to Midnight (Last tickets sold at 10:30), tickets begin to go on sale at 5pm but the maze opens at dark.
Don't plan on Purchasing Captain's Reserve while you're there, as there is none to be had.  Perhaps if you have the time, ask someone why the product is still being advertised for sale in QFC Stores and online when there IS NONE...  If there ARE a few bags available surely they would be sent to those who pre-ordered and have waited impatiently all this time; just sayin...

  1. Hello all! First I would like to thank everyone that came to our Grand Opening on September 11th. I actually represent Rutledge Corn Maze and would like to set a few things straight. As to some of the above comments we were never lied to. Russ Herriott and Josh and Jake Harris were very easy and helpful throughout the promotion. Yes, it is true coffee was not available on the day of the Grand Opening however, it is available at the maze now, all four of the blends. If you have questions about Rutledge Corn Maze and the promotion please post and I will respond factually as the person involved in the event.

  2. Yay Camille!! I just bought 3 bags at QFC yesterday!! These are DESPERATE people trying to hang on to some kind of "status" they think they had.... sad. Russ has ALWAYS been forthcoming with us. ALWAYS. You can bet Marsha will delete your post soon, as she doesnt want anyone knowing the truth. The truth is, she Helen Becky and Bonnie are DONE. And they cant seem to quite come to grips with it. Harris's are DONE with them- and this site just confirms what they already knew :)

  3. @Boob, again I guess I s/b flattered that you feel I have such influence but not my blog. As stated before:

"I do want to clarify. This is not about me specifically. I just happen to be a most recent example. There are several people already on here providing their stories and more submitting information of cons Russ involved them in.I was asked to provide documentation to back up some of my statements and I did. If anything I submit aids someone in not being taken advantage of by this man then fantastic. That's the point.
I have a thriving business, great friends and family, and endless opportunities.
I have no concern about what the boys do or don't do, it's immaterial. They are getting a big fat dose of Russ right now, and they know this.
    The tides are turning. "

PS I am totally enjoying it though!

No double talk in this one! Can't dispute reality. I do agree with the poster, here's wishing the boys the best of luck in the future with their coffee.
