Some members of the "Captain Phil Nation" believed what was posted on the forum. That is understandable. One would not think lies would be posted as readily and fluently throughout one web page.
When these people were asked to go out and spread the word, they did just that. They spread slanderous untruths all over face book like wild fire. Several people were targeted by this onslaught of negative publicity. Some disciples of untruth became self-imposed crusaders for the cause. They, after all, were protecting the Harris Family. They were also unwitting pawns of Russ Herriott.
Because of sites such as Marsha Coffee Scammer and Bering Sea Brew Clips resulted. Negative slam sites to be sure. In retaliation other sites sprung up to respond. All of those have been deleted quite a while ago. These two persist in spreading negativity. Please note that in the web url for Bering Sea Brew clips, they use facebook.com/beringseabrew in impersonation of Marsha Cruz's business facebook.

As requested in the original post, a public apology to Marsha Cruz should be posted prominently and immediately on Captainphilharris.com and left for any remaining members to view. Marsha was unjustly targeted and an entire forum of fans were asked to "help spread the word". She deserves nothing less.

Every time I had the unfortunate chance to see him, he was either by himself, or ordering poor Jake Harris around, yes, I said "ordering", I heard some of this with my own ears thank you. 2.) If anything she has earned respect for everything she has endured and still managed to hold her head high, create a new coffee company and carry on with more and more satisfied customers. ReplyDeleteVery true. Russ bothered the people running the Commercial Fishermen's Festival so badly they declined to have dealings with him in reference to planning of the event. Toward the end they would deal only with Camille.
ReplyDeleteI have also have heard only negative remarks about Russ from other DC guys. If you are looking at them when you mention his name they cringe and roll their eyes.
At one point he had "Manager of the Captain's and Crew from Deadliest Catch" added onto his business cards and email signature. If you asked any of them they would say he was NOT their manager. The title is no longer on his email signature. They probably told him it wasn't going to happen... EVER!

PHIL FIRED RUSS. He was in process of eliminating Russ from all things Harris, but he passed away before he could finish it.
Russ had an agenda from the instant Phil died. Right away, he began posting on the Original and BEST CPH.com, that HE was the official contact for all things Harris. That little notice wasn't up long, but ENOUGH of us saw it, to be perfectly DISGUSTED by it. Phil wasn't even dead 12 hours, and Russ had swung into action in order get his mitts on anything he could.
Russ had NO respect for Phil. Otherwise, he would have remained GONE. Instead he has seen fit to ingratiate himself with the sons, taken over things he should not have his hands on at all, and is devoted 24/7, to destroying everything Phil held most dear, but he'll make darn sure HE comes out smelling like a rose.
The coffee is gone. The merchandise is gone. The best website in the world for all things Harris is gone. Russ killed every last one of them. He is a leech, a parasite on the skin of the Harris name, and that's that.
And these dumb ass women think Russ is all that? Baaaaa Baaaaaa SHEEP!
I won't saw a lot on this out of respect for Phil and his family.. but at Phil Private memorial, I saw Russ in action. I personally saw him approach one of the captain who was standing with me and talking with the little group we were in. he put his arm on this captain and said something about calling him later. This captain shrugged Russ off and said something to the effect of "don't bother". I can't remmeber the exact words either spoke, but again, I was less than 2 feet from this and I did hear and see clearly.

ReplyDeleteRuss walked around that memorial like a wounded puppy. Not many seemed to care that he was there.
And not many more were impressed with him in Astoria either. Especially the people he shoved around to bring his boy Jake in. Jake was consistantly LATE for every last event.

If Russ is the main source of the information on your end, QUITE POSSIBLY all of you are being fed untruths at times. Might be a good idea to ask Russ to see the paperwork proving things he tells you. Might be a good idea for someone to pick up the phone after he's "sealed a deal" and speak with someone from the other side and make sure it's as he says...
You're seemingly speaking for the estate in your post so I will say to you, they owed the woman money and they should have paid her. She tried going through the bookkeeper, phone calls, txts, and emails to Josh to get paid for quite a while with no response.
Russ Herriott used a whole website with over 4,000 followers, posted the WARNING WARNING WARNING message and asked the site members to help "expose" someone who was incorrectly labeled a fraud. That is not ok.
People used their credit information to order a product that has not been shipped.. Is their info safe and can they cancel? There is no response to emails when people try to find out.
It’s not about “beating a dead horse”. If you were the target of any of this you would certainly feel differently. The blog reads more like an expose’ detailing how the public is being mislead by this person. In reading I see factual examples of issues and factual result of those issues.
You are right on another post in this blog. Phil is gone. You are right; that cannot be changed. In reading this blog I see a path of destruction on many levels caused by Russ that stems far past the Harris Family. To say just go on with your life is very easy. For people who have been lied to or duped it’s not that simple. One went bankrupt. One was duped for $20,000. Others feel terrible for being used as pawns to badger and ridicule innocent people.
No vendetta, no dead horse. There are also choices. To just ignore it all and go on is like saying it was okay that these things happened. You can choose not to read. Many agree, many disagree. That’s the way the world operates. Some will agree to disagree. Such is life.

Helen- This person should have gone throught he legal process. You are smart enough to know that. Adults dont post this kind of garbage online and bash the kids right after their father dies. It was disgusting. Now the legal process will turn on her, as she has continually kept on posting over and over, in a slanderous and liable fashion. I do know what the management team with the boys is doing, and you dont- it has not been an easy process, being that they are dealing with an estate, of a deacesed person. Things change daily. And I have never once heard Russ make any derogatory statements regarding Ms Cruz other than the CPH website regarding the coffee, which was authorized by the Harris's. Russ isnt making rash statements willy nilly about ANYTHING. Marsha Cruz is visibly unstable. If shes been screwed so badly she has gone this far- get a frickin attorney!!

ReplyDeleteWHERE was the coffee at the Corn Maze? WHERE was the coffee in Astoria? BOTH events, Captain's Reserve Coffee was advertised, and PROMISED, but NOT delivered. Promises made, and not kept seems to be the way of it, since Phil passed away. Now, all of a sudden, you can't order ANYTHING on the CPH.com website. WHY??? That's the big question here. If everything is so peachy rosy fine, why is there no coffee or other merchandise? Don't give me the 'oh it sooo involved' nonsense, that is not acceptable. Why? Because the amount of time that has passed since Phil's death, is MORE than sufficient to have finalized things.
I've been involved in transferring business concerns more than once in my life. I know it does not take but 90 days to transfer a business legally, AND KEEP IT RUNNING AT THE SAME TIME. Every hotel my family has ever owned, stayed open, operating, and turning a profit while all transition took place, so the whole 'its still in transition' answer simply does not wash. So what's the scoop?
If I were Phil Harris, I'd be reaching out of my grave right now, and giving Russ Herriott a flying bitchslap for seemingly destroying everything I held most dear.
I had heard of difficulty in getting Captain's Reserve Coffee at QFC stores in the greater Seattle area. So on a recent trip to Seattle, I decided to try and get some. Mind you, I did NOT work for Phil, nor did I ever meet him personally, but still, I loved that coffee and was hoping I'd find some while there to ship home. I visited FOUR stores. Not one had the coffee. NOT ONE. So I asked management, when it could be expected to back in. One manager actually LAUGHED and said that they were not going to carry it anymore. I then asked why. Their response, and this is verbatum: "We will not deal with the man who took over Phil's business concerns." In other words: they won't deal with Russ. Another comment I got from a QFC member of management: "We miss the lady we dealt with, we don't like the new guy." Now you can call me crazy if you see fit, but when you hear the same thing at four different locations, you DO start to wonder if there isn't something foul afoot.
When the coffee made it in to QFC stores, it was one of Phil's proudest moments. He was so delighted that it was finally making a big move, in to a retail mainstream market. How would he feel to know that its gone less than a year after his death?
So, "Bob", "Roy", could you please enlighten us bitter old cows? . If Russ is doing such a fabulous job, why won't QFC stores deal with him? If he really IS such a fabulous business manager, WHY does it appear that everything is falling apart at the seams? That's all anyone really wants to know. Why? Concern. There are two young men, with their whole lives ahead of them. Maybe, just maybe the ones you call bitter old cows, are really concerned that those futures could be ruined if this current trend continues.
I do want to clarify. This is not about me specifically. I just happen to be a most recent example. There are several people already on here providing their stories and more submitting information of cons Russ involved them in.I was asked to provide documentation to back up some of my statements and I did. If anything I submit aids someone in not being taken advantage of by this man then fantastic. That's the point.
